This consists of 2 nurse appointments and 1 follow on GP consultation to discuss the results.

This is the best way/ “Gold Standard” to find out if you have High Blood Pressure (Hypertension).

At the first nurse appointment she will fit a blood pressure cuff on your arm. It will be attached to a tube and a little box that goes on your belt.

The cuff on your arm will inflate twice an hour during the day and once an hour at night.

You will wear it for 24 hours.

The next day you will come back and have a nurse appointment where she will remove the monitor.

You will be offered a follow on doctor appointment to go through the results. (This is included in the cost of the 24 hour blood pressure monitor).

This service is free to holders of a medical card or doctor visit card or over 70s card.
