Sandymount Medical has a proud history of providing compassionate and high quality healthcare to our community. The practice was originally founded in 1939 by Dr Patrick Ryan, a visionary in family medicine. In 1979, his son, Dr John Ryan joined the practice continuing the tradition of excellence. 

 

Dr Denis Corboy joined John in 1983 and he provided exceptional care to the community for many years until his recent retirement in 2023.  

 

Dr Miriam Daly and Dr Doreen Myers joined the practice in 1999 and 2008 respectively. 

 

They were joined by Dr Suzanne Murphy and Dr Ronan Bredin more recently. This team has continued to provide expert GP care to adults and children in the community. 

 

 In 2024 after many years at 29 Sandymount Road we moved this clinic to Barrow Street. We are hoping to move this back to Sandymount when a suitable premises becomes available. 

 

In recent years Dr Tony O’Sullivan and his wife Caitríona joined our team. They both retired in January 2025. We are delighted to be providing ongoing care at both of our sites to all the patients that Tony and Caitríona looked after so well over the years.
