Dr Cathy Cullen

Dr. Cathy Cullen graduated from UCD in 1982 and trained on the Dublin Vocational training scheme. She worked as a GP in Goatstown, Dublin 14 in a three-doctor practice for 18 years before joining Safetynet Primary Care as a GP and medical director in 2018.

Safetynet provides primary care to marginalised groups.
Cathy is the National Clinical Director of General Practice Training, overseeing the training of over 1200 GP trainees across Ireland, on behalf of the Irish College of GPs.

She has had a long career in GP education, providing continuous medical education for working GPs as well as GPs in training since 2000. Cathy spent over two years in Penang,Malaysia, expanding and implementing the Malaysia Ireland Family medicine training programme (MInTFM) and oversaw the first batch of graduates there in late 2023.

She is passionate about the value of primary care and enjoys being a family doctor.
